Formula Renault UK Championship competitor Menasheh Idafar wrapped up the second day of this week’s official test at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit happy with his progress after another solid run in his Hillspeed prepared car.
The Gulf Computer Services, Gulfol and Ortolan backed youngster backed up the excellent performance he produced at the 1.2-mile Kent track on day one with a fine workmanlike effort today, Wednesday, 4th March, to round out the test with a best lap of 44.659 seconds (96.62mph) which he posted this afternoon.
With lap times incredibly close between the 26 drivers on track at the Kent circuit today, just eight 10ths of a second covered the first 23 racers. During the morning Menasheh lapped in 44.830 seconds (96.25mph – just four 10ths of a second outside 10th place.
The three-hour afternoon run then saw the British-born Bahraini produce his best lap of the two days, 44.659 seconds, to end the session only three 10ths of a second away from the coveted top 10.
Hillspeed team principal Richard Ollerenshaw commented: “It’s been another strong test for us and Menasheh continued to work hard today. He’s benefited from plenty of mileage over the last couple of days and running in wet and dry conditions. We’re happy with the continued progress and looking forward to more at Snetterton next week.”
Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk will host the third of the official Formula Renault UK pre-season test sessions on Wednesday, 11th March, and Thursday, 12th March.
