Exciting single-seater prospect Menasheh Idafar gave an impressive account of himself at Pembrey Circuit in South Wales earlier this week – the teenager making his Formula 3 test debut with renowned team Carlin Motorsport.
The up-and-coming racer, who is currently competing in the Formula Renault BARC Championship, took his maiden miles in an F3 car on Monday, 1st September, and enjoyed an encouraging adaptation to the demands of one of Carlin’s Mugen-Honda powered National Class cars, as raced in the British Formula 3 International Series.
Weather conditions at Pembrey were changeable with hail storms actually bringing the British-born Bahraini’s run to an early conclusion on Tuesday, 2nd September. Overall the test, which was arranged a few months ago, went well as the 17-year-old started to understand the feel of an F3 car in both the wet and the dry.
Carlin Motorsport, of course, is the biggest team in British F3 and of the current grid of drivers in the FIA Formula One World Championship, Mark Webber, Nico Rosberg, Robert Kubica, Sebastian Vettel and reigning champion Kimi Raikkonen have all been associated with the Aldershot squad’s F3 operation.
Menasheh’s next track action will come in his Hillspeed-run Formula Renault BARC car at Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire tomorrow, Friday, 5th September, during a general test day. On Sunday, 7th September, he will participate in the 10th round of the Formula Renault BARC Championship at Thruxton Circuit in Hampshire.
