Winter Championship testing at Snetterton in Norfolk continued today, Thursday, 29th October, with Manor Competition’s Menasheh Idafar once again completing a strong programme at the wheel of his 2.0-litre Formula Renault UK racer.
Having kicked-off pre-event testing for this Saturday’s opening two rounds of the winter series with an impressive outing yesterday, the 18-year-old lapped quickly once again today with identical pace to that of team-mates David McDonald and Thomas Hylkema.
Offering better grip and faster lap times today, the 1.95-mile track was relatively busy with Formula 3 cars testing alongside the Formula Renault runners but Menasheh enjoyed an excellent run during both the morning and afternoon.
The third and final day of practice prior to the Winter Championship curtain-raiser will take place at Snetterton tomorrow, Friday, 30th October, and will be officially timed to provide the first true glimpse of each driver’s pace relative to the others.
After tomorrow’s trio of 50-minute test sessions, qualifying and the first two races of the 2009 Formula Renault UK Winter Championship will take place on Saturday, 31st October.
