Hillspeed’s Menasheh Idafar continued his build up to next month’s Formula Renault UK Winter Championship at Oulton Park in Cheshire today, Tuesday, 14th October, with yet another assured and competitive performance.
One of just a handful of Formula Renault drivers on track during the general test session, the 17-year-old ran on both the Island Circuit and International Circuit configurations to gain more vital test mileage.
Obviously, with less than three weeks remaining until the first two rounds of the 2008 Winter Championship on Saturday, 1st November, every opportunity to test his Ortolan, Gulfol and Gulf Computer Services backed car is important for the British-born Bahraini.
Speaking after today’s run, Hillspeed team principal Richard Ollerenshaw said: “The conditions were very mixed but that’s obviously good as none of us know what weather to expect for the winter series! Once again, we’re very pleased with Menasheh’s pace and with how he’s adapting to the UK-specification car.”
Menasheh is expecting to return to the track next week with outings planned at both Snetterton in Norfolk and Rockingham in Northamptonshire – the latter the venue for the final two rounds of the winter series on Saturday, 8th November.
