With just a couple of days remaining until the beginning of the Formula Renault UK Winter Championship, Menasheh Idafar got pre-event testing off to a great start at Snetterton today, Wednesday, 28th October, the venue for the opening two rounds of the series.
Joining his fellow Winter Championship competitors at the 1.95-mile Norfolk venue, the outing marked the first of a run of three straight tests leading up to this weekend’s races. In consistent, dry conditions the Manor Competition driver lapped strongly throughout and worked closely with team driver coach Danny Watts, the 2002 Formula Renault UK Champion.
“It’s been another really good day, I enjoyed working with Danny and we made some really good progress”, said the 18-year-old, “The track was quite slow today and the conditions were very still, there was neither a headwind or a tailwind so everyone’s times weren’t as quick as when we tested at Snetterton a couple of weeks ago. Everything went well though.”
Menasheh is back in action at Snetterton tomorrow with officially timed testing following on Friday, 30th October. The opening event of the 2009 Formula Renault UK Winter Championship, rounds one and two, will then be held on Saturday, 31st October.
