Teenage single-seater racer Menasheh Idafar made a welcome track return at Snetterton in Norfolk this week with a two-day Formula 3 test outing at the wheel of one of T-Sport’s National Class cars.
Having called time on his involvement in the 2009 Formula Renault UK Championship following the seventh race meeting of the season at the beginning of August, the 18-year-old from Bahrain was eager to get back on track and certainly made the most of his latest F3 outing.
Lapping within just half a second of a number of full Championship Class runners, Menasheh impressed Russell Eacott’s Brackley-based British F3 squad with his pace, commitment and willingness to learn as he considers options for the 2010 motorsport season.
Commenting on the Snetterton test, Menasheh said: “I’m very happy with how the two days went for me, I really enjoyed it and learned a lot from Russell and the team. It was good being back in an F3 car and I managed to set some competitive times so I’m pleased with how it all turned out.”
This week’s outing marked only Menasheh’s fourth ever Formula 3 run having previously tested with Carlin Motorsport three times during the tail-end of 2008 at Pembrey in South Wales.
